Hi, my name is Chad Soileau & in March 2006 I weighed 464 pounds. 464 will always hold a special place in my heart because it was this number that made me realize that unless I made some drastic changes in my life I wasn't going to be around in 5 years. I have since lost over 260 pounds and live a healthy active lifestyle by running, cycling, swimming, weightlifting and boxing on a daily basis.

Chad and his story have been featured on numerous local and national venues including the NBC Sports broadcast of the 2009 Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3, the feature athlete motivational story on NBC's broadcast of the 2010 Ironman Coeur d' Aelene broadcast, the feature story with Dr. Sanjay Gupta on CNN, the Gatorade reality show "Quest for G", Triathlete Magazine, New Orleans Times Picayune and The Baton Rouge Advocate. 11 June 2017 - The swim portion of the Escape from Alcatraz was cancelled for safety reasons. While I did get to do the bike and run it just wasn't the same without the swim. The goal on the goal list is still intact but I'm registered for the Escape from Alcatraz 2018 race next June so it's still within reach!
13 June 2010 - Chad Soileau and the story of Team 464 was profiled on the NBC broadcast of the Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3 presented by Ford.
